”No Filter” was created in March 2020 . It represents the illusion of protection that my fellow “Healthcare Heroes” experienced during the beginning stages of Covid-19. The ever changing CDC guidelines on how long N95 masks were effective left many Healthcare workers feeling unprotected while on the frontlines. In the eyes you will find the reflection of the world that was being brought together by fear and uncertainty.
In the background you can find a backwards copy of. ”The CARES Act” the first stimulus bill, which was signed into law on March 27, 2020. The backwards print represents the state of the country at this time.
Nonsensical.
Down the left side, the word “ESSENTIAL”
Healthcare workers are considered
“Essential Personnel” by definition this means they are “ indispensable to the emergency service function and required to assist in meeting operational needs” Overnight, they became the military in a war against an invisible enemy that walked among them.
This piece represents Covid-19 in its infancy. We knew it was here, but only because we were told it was. We had yet to see “ it” and everything that would come with it. It was the calm before the storm.
Can you see it? Hint: look left

Original photo shot in Montmartre, France. While wandering around a market, a building being torn down caught my eye. I peeked in the doorway of the destruction to find this chair, untouched, amongst the rubble.
